Frequently Asked Questions

How is it done?

With this new art medium the image is infused into the surface of a durable yet lightweight aluminum panel. Images are printed using expensive gel inks (dyes) onto special transfer paper. We only use ChromaLuxe aluminum panels as these are the best quality. The aluminum panels are coated with a very fine multiple layer finish. The transfer paper and the aluminum panel are placed on a very hot (360-400 degree) heat press. The interaction of the inks and the polymer coating of the aluminum being heated creates a gas which gets infused into the surface of the metal. Infusing the dyes directly into specially coated aluminum panels results in outstanding image clarity and vibrancy.
