Metal Print Sizes and Shapes

Metal prints are high grade aluminum panels that are specially coated with a polymer. At Pixel2metal, we only use Chromaluxe aluminum panels, the world's leading brand, to produce our metal prints. Your image is printed with a dedicated sublimation printer using sublimation dye inks onto transfer paper. The image printed on the transfer paper is then taped to a blank Chromaluxe panel. Under heat and pressure, the dyes in the ink change into a gas and bond with the polymer coated panel. Essentially, temperatures at around 400 degrees open the pores of the polymer coating and cause the dyes to become a gas and enter the pores of the polymer. When the Chromaluxe panel is removed from the heat press and allowed to cool, the pores close, and the gas reverts back to a solid, becoming infused into the polymer. As a result, the image becomes a permanent part of the aluminum panel.
